We've got reservations for TM, but no site assignment. We made the res back in March. Is this a first-come first-served type of set up? Do we arrive and drive around, check out available sites and select one? If that is the case, any recommendations? Sites to avoid?

Thanks!

When you get there they will give you a site based upon what is available at that time. You can check it out and if you like it take it, if not ask for a different one. 'A' and 'B' loops are the most popular and usually fill up quick. Cafeful though, from the people that got my site, they said that there was one girl in the kiosk that was quite rude. Just got back, lots of bugs, bug spray is a must unless you dont mind getting bit.

we always stay in the back loop of the camp....I think it pretty near the backpackers camp. The reason being, it is VERY quiet. We also had A LOT of privacy....no one really looking at you in your campsite, lots of space to pitch a few different tents, etc. As far as bugs, they are everywhere, just spray yourself,. and be careful about not leaving the tent open for more than the 1- seconds it takes to climb in. next best thing to being out in the middle of the back country.
