How tough is it going to be to find a decent campsite not overcrowded or a cabin/room on this weekend?

Memorial Day weekend is the most busy weekend of the year for Yosemite. I guess it's that long stretch of no or few holidays between New Years and end of May.

If you don't want crowds, I would come another weekend. It's quiet after Labor day. The least busy time is early December, but at that time it's cold without the benefit of snow (skiing).

If you want a good campsite that weekend, take a few days off and come up Wed. night. No guarantees though!

The least crowded campsites tend to be some of the primitive campsites along the Tioga Road, but every campground (that's open) will be full Memorial Day.
