I heard from somewhere that the price of some campsites varied according to the temperture. Is this true?

Yes, that's true, but it's based on Celsius, not Fahrenheit, and it's for the high, not the low temperature. The base temperature is 20C, which is about 68F. The cost is $20. If the high temperature is over 20C, there is no difference in price.

If the high for the day is under 20C, you get $1 for each 1C. So when the high is 0C (32F), camping is free. There are no refunds if the high temperature is under 0C, which rarely happens in Yosemite Valley anyway.

Your best bet to take advantage of this deal is Jan. when the average high is 9C, so camping is only $9. Feb is 13C ($13), March 15C ($15), and April 18C ($18 ). All other months rarely get discounts.

Don't know if your question was a troll or someone was pulling your leg, but don't believe any of this :-)

Then someone was confused, those aren't campsites.

Tho I know people who would consider that really roughing it.

People are easily confused.

It almost has to be that though.

Someone told me that someone said something that something
was free somewhere. Something like that.

With "npsranger" in the username.... nevermind...

IF, and that's a big if the temp gets low enough.
