Options for camping without a resevation....

Postby budmelch » Tue Apr 17, 2012 11:13 am

Hi All,

I'm scheduled to be in Yosemite the first week in June and wasn't aware of the difficulty in getting a site.

What are my options if I'm not lucky enough to score a cancelled reservation or a first come, fist served site (i'm not arriving at the park until late afternoon on a Saturday)? Any options just outside the park? Worse comes to worse, what do I do?? I'm a tent camper by the way...

Your options are limited. The isolated campgrounds (Tamarack Flat), White Wolf) are possible, but Saturday night camping in June is POPULAR.

Your other options are the Forest Service campgrounds on the east and west sides, and private campgrounds.

Rangers patrol at night and wake you up if you sleep in your car on the road.
