Hi,

We are a couple from Sweden who are travelling to the US for the first time, and are planning a 15 day roadtrip. We have reserved a "camper-van" (normalsized-van) in LA and have planned to stop at Yosemity for 2-3 nights after visiting San Fransisco. Can anyone recommend a campsite/area of the park that would suit a couple who doesn't know where to start? =)
We'd like to hike and maybe do some fishing..

Thankful for any suggestions!

You can look online at recreation.gov for the dates you need. There are first come/first serve sites available in different parts of the park but there will be lots of people trying to get them. You need to look on the Yosemite website to see which campgrounds will even be open when you are going to be here - some do not open until after the Tioga Road has been open to allow you access to them and repairs have been made to the facilities.

You also need a California fishing license and to be aware of the rules regarding fishing in the park. Some of the waterways are catch and release only. You can get a two day license here: http://www.dfg.ca.gov/Fishing/

The Yosemite fishing page is here: http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/fishing.htm
