Best Campsite in Tuolumne Meadows

Postby deand » Sun Jan 04, 2009 11:03 am

Hi everyone.

I'm wondering what is the best campsite in tuolumne meadows. We are looking to book the first of July when the campground opens and there is 2 kids and 3 adults (whom love to fish).

Does anybody have recommendations for specific campsites in tuolumne meadows?

Thanks.

The best I think are away from Tioga Road (less road noise at night and away from the mosquitos in early summer). I also like toward the center of the campground so I can walk to the store and cafe.

For pictures of individual campsites see,

Nice Dan, thanks.

Would you say Loop A then furthest from Tioga Rd? Is that walking distance to the store, where is the store?

The store is behind (south of) sites 26-30, where it says "store"

Loop A is the furthest. It's also near the river, so has more mosquitoes (a concern in July and maybe early August).

The Loops F and G are higher and drier, as are the back (north end) of loops B and C.
