Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knows how strictly they enforce the 6 person limit per campsite. We will be visiting Yosemite in May and I was only able to get 1 spot in the valley. We have 4 adults and 4 children, 1 family will be staying in a small rv the other a single tent, does anyone know if this will be ok??

Thanks!

Post your question on
yosemitenews.info

There will be responses there. I have not car camped in the valley so
I don't know. I highly doubt that they go around counting.

Since you are asking ... you are obviously very considerate of others
and understand that "rules" aren't just made to piss us all off..

In your case with an RV I would think it would be fine but, no idea.

Annie,
Shouldn't be a problem. Like bill said the rangers/campground hosts don't go around counting. It's one of those rules that is on the books but only enforced in case of an incident. Rangers only patrol campgrounds looking for food and containers left out which attract bears. Campground hosts rarely leave their lawn chairs. I've been tent camping in Yosemite for over 50 years and 8-12 people with 3 family size tents was not uncommon. We just tried to not draw attention.
