campsite question

Postby miriel » Sun Mar 15, 2009 9:13 pm

Hi everyone,

We would like to ask about the standard size of a campsite in Yosemite (we have one in Wawona). The problem is we have a large family tent that is 9'X15' and we wonder whether it will fit the campsite :D

And one more thing (just come up to mind) - what about safety in Yosemite? Is it okay to leave tent up and camping gear inside it at the campsite for a day hike?

Thanks a lot!

9'x15' tent is no problem. I leave gear in my tent all the time and never had a problem. I wouldn't leave a camera or cash or (for bears) food, but otherwise it's OK.
