Snow levels for summer 2011

Postby zonachris » Mon Dec 27, 2010 8:37 pm

Planning trip on JMT from Red's Meadow to Bishop Pass for summer 2011. Current planned start date is Mid July. Given high amounts of early snow, there is some concern that the snow level next summer could be pretty low, and heading out later will reduce the amount of post holing.

Am I overthinking this? Is it too early to be worried about this? Schedule for the group is better for july, but can go in Aug if needed.

I think it's a bit too early. You never know how much snow we'll get between January and April. But if the current trend continues, the later your trip, the better.
