Mid/late july 4 days / 3 nights backpacking. advice please!

Hey folks I'm looking into getting backpacking permits for mid to late July for 4 days / 3 nights. If anyone has any route suggestions it would be really appreciated. I'm from Colorado and have done all the popular day hikes in the valley (half dome, mist trail, etc.) but have not backpacked in Yosemite before.

I'm looking for something moderate in difficulty as I am taking a friend that doesn't have any backpacking experience and is a little bit more heavy set. He did Yosemite falls last year but didn't have a pack or anything. Basically, I just want him to have a good time & not be miserable. Thanks!
