Photography and Glacier Point Road questions

Postby samanan » Mon Mar 30, 2009 9:15 am

We are planning a visit in late May (just before Memorial Day). I'm very interested photography. Was scouting for photo locations for sunsets and sunrises. Any suggestions? (I did try to get Michael Frye's book but it is out of print).

It looks like Glacier Point would be a very good sunset location. How has the snow been this year? Any chance that Glacier Point road would be open by May 21st? It was open early May last year and the year before. Hence the question.

Last 2 years have been very poor snow years.
This year has been at about 85% of average.
You can look here:

We could still get some good storms coming thru but right now
it's a very very very good chance GP road is open then.

Tunnel View is another good one. You'll see alot of people with
tripods there at sunset...
