Cabin on valley floor

Hi from England...

I'm planning a trip to Yosemite in July, and would like to do something similar to a visit that I did some 20 years ago... but this time I'd like to try to plan it a bit better.

20 years ago, my wife and I arrived without any reservation.
I have a memory of a hotel desk which allocated lodgings to unbooked fools.
And we ended up in a cabin.
It was marvelous!
It must have been right in the centre of stuff.

Are "rustic cabins" still available in the heart of Yosemite?
Is there still a "clearing house" dealing with late, unbooked arrivals hoping for lodgings?

Thanks!

Curry Village (aka Camp Curry), on the Valley Floor has rustic cabins--wood cabins and tent cabins (with a wood floor).

Housekeeping Camp, also on the Valey Floor, has rustic tent cabins. They are concrete slabs with bunk beds.

Please look at the photos on the website to make sure it's what you want.

Summer is extremely popular. Try to book early, or try slightly off-season (May or early June is good, especially since the waterfalls are full).

Don't know about any "clearing house". Curry Village has a check-in desk. No guarantee of there being space.

Thanks Dan.
I'll see if I can get a cabin in Curry Village.
Cheers!
