Current weather

When I check weather.com and put in Yosemite National Park, it shows high temperatures in the next 10 days in the high 60s to high 70s.
However, when I clicked on CURRENT CONDITIONS on one of the National Parks' websites, it indicated high temperatures between the high 70s to mid 90s - quite a difference!
Can someone help clarify what this wide range of temperatures means? Need to know how to pack. Thanks!

If you intend to be in Yosemite valley, expect higher temperatures. Elevation makes a difference - so does topography. If you go to Tuolumne Meadows it's slightly different weather there than down lower in the valley. Layered clothing is the answer - avoid having a single heavy jacket, go with a jacket, a mid layer (a light fleece or wool sweater), a long sleeve and short sleeve, that all can be worn together. Legs are usually less sensitive to temp variation, you can get away with shorts plus some long pants.

Expect mosquitos regardless of where you go. Long sleeved or long legged clothing that's loose enough they can't bite through helps a lot.
