I will be visiting Yosemite next week and if the weather cooperates I'm hoping to take some night star photos. I've never been to Yosemite before and would like some recommendations on the best places to photograph the night sky this time of year. I know several roads are still closed. Thank you.

If you are a hiker, you might hike up as far as you can and choose a spot. The light pollution will be fairly localized. Otherwise just figure out which part of the valley floor along the Merced River gives you the least light pollution and put down a chair. They don't like people tromping out into grassy meadows but there are non-meadowy spots to be had.
