Conditions Inquiry: Red, Post, Fernadez & Merced Pass Loop

Hello, I have a permit for 8/11 exit and entry at Mono Meadow. The plan is a loop I've done before: Red Pass, Post Pass, Fernandez Pass and back to Mono Meadow via Merced Pass or Buena Vista Lake. Can anyone please give me an update on snow levels, creek levels/crossing and downed trees? I thank you in advance. I'm not clear how up to date the Wilderness Conditions are on the Yosemite NPS.gov site.

Who knows anymore? August 11th will undoubtedly be better than now. Try this for starters:

They've updated that report as of the 28th:

For trees, looks like the trail crews are maybe a couple miles up from the Buena Vista junction into the area around the Clark Fork/Red Creek area:

Lot's of snow hanging on high up, deep suncups galore. I wish I could remember where I saw it, but I recently read someone saying that north approach was still almost completely snowed over and they went for a fairly serious uncontrolled glissade. I would have at least spikes, if not crampons and an axe. Have them if I need them, be happy and resigned to the extra weight if I don't. Probably not too many timely reports up there just yet. Not that I can find anyhow (it's on my radar for later in the month). People going up there tend to not be those that muddle through and get caught out and surprised with whatever comes their way. Find reports for similar elevations and aspects, extrapolate.

Hope that helps. Better than nothing I suppose.
