Highway 120 or 140 (Mariposa) from Sacramento?

i am going to yosemite, from sacramento. some people tell me to take 120 and some people tell me to go to mariposa, and then go through the rock arch entrance. call any one tell me what is the best route to get to the visitor center, to all the information,

120 is a slower road than 140 (through A-Rock), but you're going a lot further south to save a few minutes time. I would take 120 if I'm coming in from the north.

Take Highway 99 to Manteca, then Highway 120 to Yosemite.

Look for a campground reservation at http://yosemitsites.com/

If you want a hotel room in the park, it's too late.
