How much snow this winter?

Postby Bergtroll » Wed Mar 12, 2008 3:32 pm

Does anybody know whether the snow level is high, medium or low this year?

More specifically, can I expect that the Sierra High Route will look like this mid April 2008: http://offyonder.com/story.lasso?id=8

Many thanks!

It's too soon to tell--the real snows won't start until later...and conditions in the spring can change in just a day or two.

BTW, unless you hiked that route before, or have EXCEPTIONAL map reading skills, that's a great way to get lost in the mountains in the snow---you won't be able to see ANY trail markers.
