Yosemite in late December...

Hi,

My family and I lucked out and will be in the Park for the Bracebridge Dinner. In addition, we've got a couple more days in the park after that, and I was wondering what I should expect as far as what's available?

I figure that weather will determine a lot of what we will be able to do. However, I was hoping that anyone who has experience with Yosemite in wintertime would give me some pointers/suggestions for things we should plan, or at least try, to do.

Some more specific questions...do the south-facing climbs (i.e. Royal Arches, etc.) generally stay in good condition, or should we just save it for another time? Fishing any good?

Thanks for your help!

-Dean

Climbs are cold in Winter, even on the sunny North side. It gets warm in the middle of the day, but the rock never warms up.

There's cross-country or downhill skiing sometimes in December. It depends on the weather--sometimes there's enough snow in late December, sometimes there isn't.

Ice skating in Curry Village.

Hiking around the Valley and the north rim trails are doable.

Never see anyone fishing in December. Water is very low.
