Planning a late summer backpacking/canyoneering trip from benson lake to pleasant valley to pate valley following Piute Creek. Does anyone have pictures or information about the terrain. I have looked at google earth and topo maps and am impressed by the terrain, but on the ground knowledge is always much better than aerials.

Love any feedback people may have on:

a) Benson to Pleasant Valley

b) Pleasant Valley to Pate Valley

Definately know there is some uber steep areas in b). The trail deviates considerable from the creek for some reason.

Also what's the fastest way to get to Benson Lake? From east side or white wolf or hetch hetchy?

Thanks

I'll answer the easy one. Easily the easiest way in is from Twin Lakes.
No question there. If you're in great shape you could probably
run in in a day. It's about 18 miles and not brutal elevation.

Since the original post was 2010 and the trip likely was too, that particular trip report is likely outdated by now.
