I'm planning a 4-day High Sierra backpacking trip starting Sep 20th.
1. How's the condition at that time (temperature? snow? bugs?).
2. I'd like to start at Tuolumne Meadows going to Sunrise, Merced Lk, Vogelsang, and end at Tuolumne Mdws. I did not see Tuolumne Mdws as a trailhead entrance in the Wilderness Permit drop down list. I don't want to start at May Lk because it'll take 5 days. Which other entrance is available?
Thanks for answering.

1. No bugs. The mosquitoes die in August +/-.
No snow. Fall is beginning. Lows in the
high 20s/low 30s in the high country. Highs
in the 70s. For details see
http://yosemite.ca.us/faq.html and click on "climate."

2. You can start at Tuolumne Meadows. Maybe
it was called something else, such as Lyell Canyon. Look for the trailhead name.
