Glen Aulin & Toulumne River?

Postby Grzldvt » Tue Sep 02, 2014 9:30 pm

Anyone been down to Glen Aulin in the last few weeks, I am curious as to how low the river is? It has to be almost dried up. Two of us, once again, are planning on heading down to LeConte Falls area and crossing over to the other side and come up somewhere near McGee Lake. I am thinking the 17th-19th of September.

Sorry, but the last time we were there was in late June...and the river was not exactly roaring, but in fine form.

I'm sure the river still runs. If it's anything like the San Joaquin or the Kaweah, tho, it's more like a creek.

Go to this thread: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2616 . Scroll down to Kevin's 9/2 posting and follow the link to his trip report. There are several pictures of the river including one of a hiker crossing it.

You can also see the flow measured at the gauging station above Hetch Hetchy here: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/ca/nwis/uv?11274790 .
