Mosquitos in Ten Lakes

Postby bamer101 » Sun Aug 09, 2015 6:12 pm

Doing ten lakes for a couple nights next week. What are the Mosquitos like right now? I'd like to take my hammock and leave the tent at home. My wife and I did Cathedral to SC in June and the Mosquitos dominated us. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hey,
We were there a couple weeks ago and the mosquitoes weren't that bad at all. Much less of an annoyance than we expected...like nothing to worry about. Lake #6 was probably the worst because it's just marshier, but we didn't camp there, so no big deal just walking past. Huge difference between June and now, no matter where you go. I'm not sure if I wouldn't want my tent though, since there is no shortage of water around. Just a little bit of bug spray every so often took care of everything, no problem.
