We got our wilderness permit for Tuesday 8/16/2016 starting at the Glacier Point trailhead and everything else is set except the hikers bus is sold out all day. So two of us (plus packs) are looking for a ride some time before noon from the valley up to Glacier Point. We would be very grateful for anyone who would be willing to help salvage our vacation in the wilderness, and are willing to pay for the ride.
The other option is to hitchhike up, but I'm not sure how well that would work out. Has anyone had experience with hitchhiking up to Glacier Point and be willing to provide any advice?
Thanks!

Assuming you have a car, drive up and park at the trailhead on the 16th, then reschedule the shuttle for the ride back up afterwards. That's the way to go, for sure.
Two with backpacks is usually a lot harder than one person. It can happen, maybe, but it can take hours, and it's no way to start out the first day. Another option is to hike up Four Mile Trail.
