Look at the webcams - it changes from day to day, but mostly, it obscures the views. If you have asthma don't go for sure...

The smoke is traveling mostly north. I'm going south and slightly east of the park. People in Tahoe are getting hazy views as well.... There's a light haze in the rest of the range from another fire, much farther south in the Kern River drainage, and there's also some hazing due to a fire in a coastal (near Santa Barbara) area.

Welcome to California in the summer. This is what happens here.

Smoke plumes can be seen in Worldview at https://go.nasa.gov/2vsL9mN .
Fire locations can be seen in the CalFire map at https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mi ... 232422&z=8 .

From a random user on /r/yosemite -

https://www.reddit.com/r/Yosemite/comments/6o5qz5/california_governor_declares_state_of_emergency/dkl98t2/

"I just got back from the valley last night. Was there Sunday-Friday. Ash was getting in my eyes. The smoke, the first few days only came in the afternoon-evening and cleared by morning. By Friday, it was there in the am too. I'm not terribly smoke-sensitive, but it was pretty awful. Thursday afternoon, we couldn't see Yosemite falls or half dome from the valley floor. It just sounds like it's getting worse :-("

It should be getting better shortly. They are making significant gains on controlling the fire.
