Backpacking Trip Help Please

Postby budzerella » Wed May 28, 2008 12:21 pm

Hey I am planning a backpacking trip for late June. We are planning on starting in Tuolumne Meadows, hiking to Catherdral Lakes, then Sunrise Meadows, then Clounds Rest, then Half Dome. I have done that part and will probably be the first two or three days. Then we will hike through Little Yosemite Valley to Merced Lake, the to Bernice Lake, then Vogelsang Lake, then to Ireland Lake, then finish the trip hiking through Lyell Canyon back to our starting point. Should be about four or five days for the part after half dome, probably gonna take our time. Any suggestions on places in that area that we could see? Also, havent hiked Yosemite in a while, but do we need Permits for those areas? Where do I get them? How soon do i need to get the permits? Finally do you think snow will be a problem in these areas for the last week of June?
Thanks for the help.

Snow should not be a problem as it was very light this year. The rest looks pretty good, Lyell is much better than Rafferty.
