Anyone know the status of this bridge? Did it ever get repaired last year? I was thinking about doing Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne as part of a large loop.
Thanks!

Not repaired, but possibly passable. From a recent trail report:

the Pate Valley bridge had not been repaired; fortunately, at least one of its stringers was both intact and mostly free of rot.

Last I saw/heard, it looked like the photos that idiotwind posted back in mid-august here:

As of a few days ago, that's still what it looks like.

So is there any other way to do GCT as a through hike and not out and back without crossing this bridge?

Coming from either direction, no. The river divides the canyon right down the middle, and the bridge is basically the terminus for both sides of the connected trail system. Assuming it doesn't take any more damage or they close it, that's a perfectly good bridge as it stands. As an alternative, you could go up into the north end of the park and then return on the GCT, but you would end up back at Glen Aulin. From there, you could either backtrack to Tuolumne Meadows or go up the May Lake Trail to hit other areas.

What kind of through hike were you thinking about? ie: where to where?

If you wanted to add 24 miles +/- I suppose you could hang a right at Pate valley instead of crossing the bridge, and go all the way to Hetch Hetchy. But you'll need to have someone pick you up, or to stage a vehicle there. No shuttles run out that way.

And climb over Rancheria Mountain, which isn't all that much fun...grin

What goes up, up, up, up, up, up, up and up, and then comes down, down, down doobie doo down down... down... down some more...

And then muddles along in the full afternoon sun next to the lake in all that granite where the rattlers live?

Granted, that shower you get at Wapama Falls is pretty nice, after all that. Still...

A few days ago I was speaking to a ranger, getting a backcountry permit. He mentioned that the bridge is not passable, and it is not fixed. He did not know when it was scheduled to be fixed.

Does anyone know if the April flooding had any impact to the bridge?

It is still described as "not passable" by the NPS.
