Eagle Peak water availability

We will be hiking to Eagle Peak via the Yosemite Falls trail at the end of August. Is there a reliable source of water along the trail or do we need to carry all of our water? Any information on the current condition of the trail will be appreciated as well. Thank you for your help!

You'll need to get water in the meadows somewhere. Maybe 1 mile from the far end of Eagle Peak.

Or the Eagle Creek crossing on the trail to El Capitan.

Thanks, Jim. I looked at Eagle Creek on the topo map. Can we count on a usable flow at the of August? If we get there with minimal water and it's dry, then we have a problem.

What direction will you be coming from?

This year, you'll probably be okay, but Yosemite Creek might be the safest source late in August.

We will start in the valley on the Upper Yosemite Falls trail.

If you want to be safe, fill up with as much as you need/can carry at the bridge over Yosemite Creek near the top of the falls. Not a lot of elevation to climb once at the top of the falls, so loading up at the bridge shouldn't slow you down much.

Then top off with any good water sources as you loop around through Eagle Peak Meadows to get to Eagle Peak.

Eagle Peak creek may be running, plus the meadows should have some pockets of water.
