Any Pit toilets at May Lake or Tenaya?

Postby JoeHiker53 » Thu Aug 07, 2008 8:11 pm

I have a group of five backpacking the Ten Lakes trail later this month. Our itinerary is to hike up from Yosemite Creek to Ten Lakes and come around Tuolumne Peak to May Lake, then do the Sunrise Trail down to Half Dome and finish in the valley.

We were wondering if there are any toilet facilities available to backpackers at May Lake or near the trail head there or near Tenaya Lake?

Obviously we will cat hole where necessary, but it would be a much more enjoyable break if we knew that there was an alternative to look forward to at the midpoint of our trip.

Yeah, Tenaya Lake has pit toilets galore. At the west and east end of the lakes at the parking lots and also at the two trailhead parking lots on the north side of the lake.

May Lake has the High Sierra Camp with toilets.

Tenaya has pit toilets and May Lake has flush toilets.
