What do you people think about hiking after dark or early in the morning in the area around tuolumne peak??? Will bears be a problem?

I think people usually hike overnight too right??? Is that uncommon??

It's common to miss the trail during the day. It's virtually certain to miss the trail at night (unless it's a heavily overused trail, such as JMT, and even then it's possible to miss it).

Hiking until "Usable Daylight", about an hour after Sunset is OK. Hiking in an area you are familiar with already is OK (if you are prepared for the possibility of getting lost).

Bears are noctural, but with backpackers and campers they have changed their habits and you can see them during the day also.
