News on Yosemite reopening

Postby WanderingJim » Wed May 13, 2020 8:48 am

SFGate had a couple of interesting articles.

Not too surprising, even when the park reopens some things won't be open.

And Aramark is apparently evicting some furloughed workers from their in-park lodgings.

Can't say this surprises me. Amamark has really been spotty on their record since they took over in Yosemite.

Yep. This is a sad news story. Those employees deserve better.

Yep, Aramark has done nothing but drop the ball since they took over. The NPS prostituted themselves, the taxpayers, and the visitors when they signed this contract, but I'm sure the company has a great strategy for getting their share of the "free money" to offset their losses and maintain shareholder value. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse than DNC.......

They just announced that campground reservations will not open on May 15. bear in mind that those reservations would be for September to October 15.

So maybe no campgrounds at all in Yosemite this year,
