High Sierra Camps via the 2023 lottery

Hello,

After a decade of trying, my daughter and I have won a spot in the lottery for late July. I live in Vermont, and I have not been in Yosemite since 1960 (I was 9 years old) when my family took a six-day mule trip in the High Sierra.

We will be hiking for four days with a guide. My question: What do I need to bring along in my backpack? Do I need to carry anything for staying in the camps other than a toothbrush? Do you have any other advice? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

If this question has been answered in this forum, please point me to the right place. I have looked for it, unsuccessfully so far.

Regards, Jethro

Hi Jethro

The High Sierra Camps are camps, not lodges! The only thing you DON'T need to pack is a tent and food for dinner or breakfast. You'll need the rest of your backpacking gear, clothes, etc.

Here's a link to get you up to speed: https://www.travelyosemite.com/lodging/ ... eparation/

Thanks for the reply. Appreciated.

I get the picture and will be prepared - not this summer, alas.
