Bridalveil Creek campground late July

Still running thru logistics for a late July trip. Thinking about spending a couple nights at Bridalveil Creek doing day hikes, to get ourselves acclimated to elevation before we head into the wilderness from the nearby Mono Meadow trailhead. It looks like you can only book a spot 2 weeks ahead for that campground, which we’ve never used before. Anything I should know about Bridalveil camping?

You are correct--two weeks in advance. And when it is open, the spots go quickly!

We've never camped there, but we've hiked through it. It's a nice spot, but far from the other day-trip destinations in the park. Fr your purposes it should be perfect. Make sure you hike to Dewey Point for an astonishing view of Yosemite!

Thanks. I think we did Dewey Point many years ago when the family did our first visit to Yosemite, but no doubt worth another look (and with a nicer camera this time).
