I am planning a 10 day trip to yosemite in late May and was wondering if anyone had any favourite hikes (apart from the obvious) that they'd recommend? I spent 3 days in yosemite in October 06, we hiked Clouds Rest.

My aim is to balance covering a good deal of hiking, but also have time to take in the scenery and take plenty of pictures.

Having already experienced Yosemite firstvhand i know i cannot go wrong wherever i hike, but i am interested in finding out if anyone has enjoyed lesser known hikes more than they expected.

Provided Glacier Pt. Road is open when you go (it should be..) try
Taft Point then over to Sentinel Dome and back.

Eagle Peak from the Valley including Yosemite Falls. You should be
able to do this since you hiked Clouds Rest from Tenaya (my presumption).

Ten Lakes Pass has some great views. If you have time you can
drop down into Ten Lake Basin and check out some of the lakes too.

All these can be dayhikes...

Enjoy

Late May is still pretty early...
120 may not be open yet...
So Ten Lakes TH may not be accessible via car.

Note that anything above 8000 ft. will have snow.. and probably
alot of it.. so you need to be prepared...
Hiking in the snow "can" be fun though...

Be safe and have fun

A good overnighter is start Happy Isle, go to Glacier Point via Illouette Creek/Falls trail then continue along Pohono Trail past Sentinel Dome, Taft Point, Dewey Pt., Inspiration Point down to valley by tunnel entrance and base of Bridalveil Fall. Catch a ride from parking lot back you the campgrounds.

I'd echo Bill's suggestions. I love the view down on Ten Lakes from the ridge above it. Its absolutely breathtaking. Although, late May still might be a little early for Tioga Rd to be opened up yet.
