Hey everyone,

This is a great site, Me and my two cousins are going backpacking first week June, i thought it would be great to get anyones input on our plans, it would really help. Planning to get up to TM Wednesday night, stay overnight and start our trek in the morning. Making reservations tomorrow.

Day one: TM to Sunrise
Day two: Sunrise to Clouds Rest
Day three: Clouds Rest to Little Yosemite Valley
Day four: Little Yosemite Valley to Happy Isles/ Take shuttle to Curry Village to eat, then take shuttle up to TM to get our car.

We are in pretty decent shape, im in my early 30's and my two cousins are fit in their late 20's.

thanks everyone for there help.

You should be fine with that hike. You will probably hit some snow on the north facing slopes at that time, but it's usually very consolidated by then. Treking poles can really help going over snow/ice with a heavy pack.

One other note (the standard Tioga Rd warning): Make sure to have a back up plan as Tioga road may not be open yet if we have a wet spring. Even is it is open by then, it could still re-close if a storm rolls through and dumps snow up high. You may have to spend a half day waiting in the valley asking every Ranger you see if Tioga is open yet. I know that's happened to me!

Shouldn't be a problem. Since it's your first time that is a good plan.
John already went over the snow issues...

If you HAVE to camp on the top of Clouds I would just say to
definitely practice Leave No Trace to it's fullest. The number of
people camping right on top has increased dramatically the last
10 years and we wouldn't really want them to close it entirely to
overnight like Half Dome due to people pooping under rocks.
Keep in mind that there may be day hikers coming up and to respect
that and not "claim" the entire summit area.

Tenaya Creek is wide where you cross so you shouldn't have too much
issue with it but be prepared to get your feet wet.

There may be alot of snow still depending on...

Be prepared to bring up water... ... if you are camping on the summit..

You'll love this...

But good luck with permits though as this is one of THE
most popular trailheads in the park.
Hopefully your day is not fully booked already.
