Yosemite Hike beginning of June

Postby iackerma » Tue May 12, 2009 7:35 am

A question to the experts: I am looking for a roughly one week long hike in beautifull Yosemite, was thinking about the area north of Tuolomne Meadows but have to go in the first week of June (travelling in from Europe, no opportunity to change this). We dont mind some snow and we are experienced backcountry travellers. Did the JMT three years back and just loved the hike. Any ideas are very welcome,

Along the Crest? If you want to stay along the crest there is no real trail. But if You get Steve Roper's book "The Sierra High Route" he has an on and off trail trip along the crest north of Hwy 120. If you did the JMT then that would be something you might like.

Another possibility is from Hwy 120 to Glen Aluin and around to Benson Lake and return.

Have fun. About 2/3 of Yosemite is north of hwy 120 and is some of the least visited in the park.
