Me and my wife are headed to yosemite, it will be her first time in the park! We have 2 nights, 3days, july 9-11 on the trail. We will arrive before sunrise on the 9th to secure a permit. We want a permit for LYV, but i dont think i can get a walk-in permit to hit the trail THAT day. Any suggestions are appreciated. We want something in the 20 mile range, and a trail that should be able to yeild a walk in permit for that same day. Anywhere in the park will work for us, its all beautiful, elevation is not a problem. Thanks in advance!

For walk in permits, you will have to take less-used routes. Maybe Snow Creek Falls climbing up out of the Valley towards North Dome...or Mono MEadows up Illiloutte Canyon...?
