1-2 night hike Over summits?

Postby mojo » Fri Jul 31, 2009 9:50 am

I'm looking to spend one or two nights backpacking in Yosemite in a few weeks. I really would like bag a summit or two on the hike (any summit). Mt. Dana looks great but it's a very short hike. Can I pair this with something else and find a little isolation along the way?

I won't have any gear so keeping it to class III scrambles.

I'll be looking to cover ~10-15 miles per day. Thanks.

The problem with that area is its designated as a day-use only. Me and a friend wanted to do something similar years ago, but we decided to not bag Mt Dana, but move on towards Mount Lewis.

Here's my adventure here: The Backcountry: Mount Lewis
