clouds rest

Postby _Gabe_ » Mon Oct 26, 2009 5:02 pm

Hello All,

Has anyone been to or seen the conditions of Clouds Rest recently? Im planning a day hiking this upcoming Saturday from Little Yosemite Valley. I read that snow level is at 9500 ft which would put CR within snow level....unless its melted away with the warm weather.

Thanks,
Gabe

Look at the Turtleback Dome webcam:

It looks pretty clear in the sun to me. Your only problem might be finding the trail in the trees--it's heavy shade and there could be some stretches of snow patches. Look at the Tioga Pass webcam also, which is around 9600'. You should be good at land navigation and map reading (and have a map).
