I and two partners did this hike on Wednesday the 25th. The hike was good until you started approaching the stairs. At this point, there was a lot of snow. You have to scramble/climb up the mountain where the stairs are supposed to be since most of them are covered in snow. At least a dozen completed the climb that day. All said the cables were know problem.

One of my partners made it two the top. I and my other partner stopped a few hundred vertical feet short of the cable. There was one patch of snow that appeared to unstable to us. However, others managed this section fine and completed the climb.
