Gloves for Half Dome

Postby Imasphere » Thu May 21, 2015 3:30 pm

I will be backpacking in Yosemite next week. I already have my backcountry permits and hoping to also obtain two permits for Half Dome. I'm wondering if I must use leather gloves to climb the cables or if those cotton gloves ribbed with rubber will do the job? I am counting the ounces in my backpack and the cotton gloves are much lighter.

I use plain cotton.
Don't get nubs, they make it more dangerous. A ball bearing effect.
