Best Campsite in Matterhorn Canyon

Postby jgaffney » Tue Dec 08, 2015 6:37 pm

I'm planning a loop from Twin Lakes, via Peeler and Benson lakes, up Matterhorn Canyon, and back to Twin Lakes. I'd like to find a good campsite in the upper reaches of Matterhorn Canyon, in the vicinity of Quarry Peak. Any help?

The whole canyon is lovely, but as you head up the canyon, the Sawtooth Range comes into view. Once that happens, you're in the right spot. The trees pretty much make a last stand about there....and the are tons of small trout in the creek. One of our favorite spots in all the Sierra.
