The national weather service in hanford has issued a

* flash flood watch for a portion of central california...
Including the following areas...Kern county mountains...
Mariposa, madera, and fresno county foothills...Sierra nevada
From yosemite to kings canyon...Tulare county foothills and
Tulare county mountains.

* from thursday morning through friday afternoon.

* 2 to 4 inches of rain with isolated amounts up to 6 inches in
The sierra. 0.5 to 1 inch in the tehachapis.

* burn scar areas including the cedar fire, rough fire and way
Fire may see elevated threat of debris flows in heavy rain.

* rock slides and flash flooding are possible along mountain
Roadways.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead

That is going to be an amazing sight. No clue how they can do it but would love to see a video of the flood.

On Sunday I was up on Donner Summit and was thinking that the conditions were more appropriate for backpacking with nothing more than microspikes and a few extra layers than they were for snowshoes and a full winter rig. The PCT at Castle Peak was a wet mess. The snowpack is still horrible.
