Does Glacier Point bus allow backpacks?

Postby MNku » Wed Jan 30, 2019 6:31 pm

Hello,
We have permits for family of 4 to enter back country at Glacier Point July 2019. We also have Half Dome permits. We want to enter at Glacier Point and leave through the Valley after one or two nights. We will stay at backpackers camp in the valley before and after our time backpacking. Can we leave car in valley and take the one way bus to Glacier Point to start the trip with all of our gear? I can find no info on what is allowed to be taken on the tour bus.
thanks

No problem, I have done the same multiple times - full backpack - and never had anyone say anything. Additionally, even though not mentioned, the bus will stop anywhere (where safe) to drop you off - (just ask the driver). I have gotten out at the Mono Meadows TH for a few RPP adventures. My only gripe is the cost...around $25 each for less than half the round trip route price.
