Three Sisters Wilderness, Oregon backpacking (Aug 2018)

Postby jartelt » Mon May 06, 2019 12:04 pm

My wife and I did a ~25 mile backpacking loop in the Three Sisters Wilderness near Bend, Oregon last August. This wilderness area is really neat with a good mix of volcanic geologic features and alpine lakes and meadows. We hiked the "Broken Top Loop" over the course of three days. We averaged about 8 miles a day, so it was relatively easy going, though there was a good amount of elevation gain. If anyone is interested to see volcanic peaks, lava flows, buttes, etc. and is near Bend, Oregon (or wants to take a trip there), this wilderness area is definitely worth a look! Bend is a cool city to visit and the trailhead for this trek was only 1-1.5 hours from the city.

Some highlight pictures are below and you can see the full trip report here: https://backpackers-review.com/trip-rep ... -top-loop/
