I doubt you are going to make this happen as there is a huge storm coming in and I would bet by Tuesday, the 26th Tioga Road will be closed from Crane Flat to Lee Vining. NOAA is calling for heavy Snow Tuesday, Tuesday evening and possibly Wednesday

Heck, it's already closed through this weekend. Pissed me off since i was thinking of going up to Tenya Lake today and hiking out to Clouds Rest. And next weeks' weather is probably going to be 10 times worse than the little front that came through this week.

Road closures or not, I was just at 10k+ a little further north in the Sierras over the past few days, and it was a cold, wet mess. Not enough snow to make it true "winter backpacking", just a lot of mud and water. Add a little wind, and we were miserable.

Two weeks ago it was a completely different late-fall situation. You missed your window entirely. C'est la vie.

Tioga Road has been closed to all traffic for some time now, and it won't open again until sometime in June, probably....
Check our our website: http://www.backpackthesierra.com/
Or just read a good mystery novel set in the Sierra; https://www.amazon.com/Danger-Falling-Rocks-Paul-Wagner/dp/0984884963
