What is a comfortable Hiking shoe & boot that you would reccommend for a newbie, being dragged up half dome?

feel free to email...

I recommend some lightweight gortex or leather hiking boots.

Sneakers also work if you're careful not to sprain an ankle on the trail.

The main thing is does it slip on the rock or not. Don't wear anything smooth soled. You won't want to slip on that rock!
