Mechanics of FC/FS at White Wolf

Postby divaesq » Sun May 16, 2010 5:34 am

Having failed ever to get close to a reservation using the online system earlier this year, we are going to come from SF and risk the FC/FS system. We've decided on White Wolf and our plan was to show up early on Sunday 8/1, since I read elsewhere on this forum that a lot of people leave on Sunday,

What precisely are the mechanics of getting a site at WW? Do you troll around and wait for someone to pack up then sit on the site? Do you wait in line somewhere to register? If so, what time is the registration?

All tips and advice for getting a FC/FS site at WW would be appreciated. Thanks.

I wish I could help you, I've never stayed there. Have you tried calling the park? Might try the Big Oak Flat ranger station number on this page: http://www.yosemitefun.com/Yosemite_Nat ... umbers.htm

Just get there early and find a spot. If all filled then troll as you said.
There's no line or anything like that. Self Reg.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Do you think Sunday is the right day to go? We're flexible so if a weekday is better we could also do that, although we already booked one night in a cheap hotel in Oakdale so we can get up early and drive to WW by 7 a.m. Do you think that's about the right time to arrive?
