Tuolumne Meadows Lodge -- food question

Postby Akichow » Sun Jun 27, 2010 9:25 am

Hello. So I understand that no cooking is allowed at the Tuolumne Meadows Lodge.

Are there picnic tables anywhere nearby where you can boil water/create a little backpacker's dinner? If you want to make your own dinner, how far do you have to go from the Lodge (and where should you go)?

Can you use a canister stove at the Lembert Dome picnic area?

I am aware of the restaurant at the Lodge and other nearby eating establishments. But hoping not to be 100% dependent on those for a four day stay.

Thanks!

There is a small picnic area just south of Tioga Road and just west of Lembert Dome where you can picnic. YOu can use gas stoves.

The "restaurant" (or fast food) in the Tuolumne store tent has reasonable prices, but the menu tends to be fast food. They have a breakfast menu though in the morning.
