True--but I will recommend one great bike ride in Yosemite. Start at the Big Oak Flat entrance station, and bike through Hodgdon Meadow campground, follow that road through the staff housing, and keep going. It will drop a bit, and then give you a nice and pretty darn steep six mile climb into the Tuolumne Grove of Sequoias. And once you ride back out of there, you can hit Tioga road, turn right, and follow it about 10-12 miles back the entrance station.
I did it a few years ago on a road bike ( at the suggestion of the ranger) but I have to say that it was nuts. Much better for a mountain bike. I had to get off at a couple of places and carry my road bike over some short but very rough stretches of rocks.
A great ride---but don't expect any help if you break down. I didn't see another soul.
