Yosemite Falls Trail

Postby Heybooboo » Tue Apr 12, 2011 8:29 pm

Has anyone been up the Yosemite Falls trail within the past week? What were the trail conditions like? Much snow, water, mud, or washouts? Wifey and I are going up in two weeks. Any info will be greatly appreciated!

I don't know if it's kosher, but here is a bit of info on another forum: http://yosemitenews.info/forum/read.php?3,33197,33615#msg-33615

Do you actually call your wife "wifey"?

Thanks for the link. Good information. And no, I do not call my wife wifey.

I was in the valley on Saturday and the trees were all covered in snow and ice along the valley walls. The grassy meadows were clear. Sunday the icy snowy trees were all clear of ice and snow. Conditions can change overnight.

I suggest calling the info line and talking to someone in the wilderness office about trail conditions. It may be snowy at the top, and it may be icy near the top, but another consideration are rock falls that intermittently close the trail, so getting the most up to date info would be best, preferably the day before you intend to be there hiking it.
